A DAY WITH WOODEN BLOCKS

Blocks they won't put down from morning to night

A day with 32 maple blocks

TODAY

This is how we played today.

07:00
A piece as soon as you wake up
Grabbing the blocks on the mat with half-asleep hands.
10:00
Tapping and biting
They listen to the sound of wood clicking together and bite on them with their gums.
15:00
Stacking and knocking down
In the afternoon after a nap, they build a tower by the shadow of the window.
17:00
A small town
Adding roofs and arches created houses, bridges, and towers.
19:00
Organizing on a tray
Sorting them into the tray by shape is today's play.
21:00
Overnight on the shelf
Leave the whole tray on the shelf for easy access the next morning.
The block that half-asleep hands reach for first

07:00 · MORNING

Even on a cold floor, the wood quickly warms up in their hands. The hands that rummaged through the toy basket every morning stop at these blocks.

07:00
Even when stepped on barefoot

All six edges rounded

Stepping on blocks scattered on the mat overnight is a common morning occurrence. The rounded edges on each block make it less painful to step on, and they won't catch on little fingers.

I was more careful because it's the age when they put things in their mouths

Instead of glossy paint

Gently rub with plant-based oil

We didn't apply a surface coating. The oil seeps into the wood, so there is no paint to peel off even if bitten.

Four things we checked first for the teething phase
  • Treated only with vegetable oil, no surface coating.
  • Even the smallest piece is 4cm on one side (example).
  • Sanded three times to prevent splinters
  • Made of dense maple wood, it doesn't dent easily even if bitten.

※ Please enter the recommended age based on the safety test results. Please supervise children while they put blocks in their mouths.

Stack, knock down, and stack again

It's okay if it falls, just build it again.

32 pieces on a wooden tray

We sized the blocks to fit the tray. If you lay the large pieces on the bottom first, all 32 pieces fit in one tray.

01
Largest pieces on the bottom
Lay down cubes and cuboids first to make the floor.
02
Rolling ones in the middle
Arches and cylinders are placed between large pieces.
03
Roof · Semicircle on top
Cleanup is done when you place the last four pieces in the empty spots.

I feel safe letting my second child play with what the first used. The wood stays the same even after years.

My child treats putting them on a tray every evening like a game. Nagging about cleaning up has decreased.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I wash it with water?
Soaking may warp the wood. Wipe with a damp cloth and dry in the shade.
What if the color fades?
Wipe with plant-based oil on a cloth once or twice a year for a fresh shine.
Each piece has a unique color.
As natural wood, each piece has its own grain and shade. That’s why no two are exactly alike.
